Examples

Shipping estimate

An order placed on Friday, October 2, 2026 with 5 business days' delivery arrives Friday, October 9, skipping the weekend.

Working days in a month

October 2026 has 22 weekdays from the 1st to the 31st. Listing a holiday such as October 12 reduces it to 21.

What counts as a business day

Business days are Monday through Friday. The calculator skips Saturdays and Sundays and any dates you list as holidays. Public holidays differ by country, state and employer, so none are removed automatically.

When counting between dates, both the start and end dates are included if they are weekdays. When adding days, the start date itself is not counted — adding 1 business day to a Monday gives Tuesday.

Frequently asked questions

Are public holidays excluded?

Only the ones you enter. Holidays vary by location and employer, so paste the dates that apply to you in the holidays box.

What does “within 3 business days” mean for a Friday?

Counting from Friday, the first business day is Monday, so 3 business days lands on Wednesday.

Can I subtract business days?

Yes. Enter a negative number in “Add business days” to count backwards, for example to find the latest date to submit something.
