From hourly wage to yearly pay
Weekly pay is your hourly rate times the hours you work each week. Multiply weekly pay by the number of weeks you're paid to get annual pay, then divide by 12 for a monthly average.
If your hours vary, use your average week. For overtime, work out the extra separately with the overtime calculator and add it on.
annual = hourly × hours per week × weeks per year
Frequently asked questions
Is $20 an hour a good salary?
Full time, $20 an hour is $41,600 a year before tax. Whether that is enough depends heavily on local living costs, so compare it with typical rent and wages where you live.
Why is my monthly pay not exactly four weeks of pay?
A month averages about 4.33 weeks (52 ÷ 12). Monthly figures here are annual pay divided by 12, which is how salaried monthly pay is normally calculated.
Does this include taxes?
No. All figures are gross pay. Income tax, social security and benefit deductions reduce your take-home pay and depend on your location and situation.
